BYOD
Have you ever thought about how we could save trees if we use technology? Well, I’m going to tell you how. We need to have bring your own device at our school. If you listen I will talk to you about how we can save trees, how students will enjoy learning about technology, and how the school can save money.

If we stop using paper and start using bring your own device, schools would save trees. Did you know that our school uses 1,200 reams of papper a year. Each ream has 500 sheets of paper. So our school uses 600,000 sheets of paper in just one year. In Auckland there are 538 primary and secondary schools. If all the schools in Auckland used as much paper as we do, the city would use 322,800,000 sheets of paper a year. That means Auckland would use 16,140 trees per year.

If our school stops using their own technology and we start using BYOD the school will be able to save money. Firstly the school spends too  much money on technology. Our school uses 100,000 dollars on technology a year. The school spends money on new iPads, computers, Chrome books and iPods. Also it costs money to repair the technology and keep the wifi up. If we had BYOD, the school wouldn’t have to keep all this technology and we could spend that money on other things.

Finally I will tell you why students will enjoy learning with BYOD. We will not need to wait to use technology. If we have BYOD students will get excited and will want to learn. Also if we work on google docs with a buddy and don’t sit together we will still be able to work on it at the same time, and see what the other person has done.

For these reasons I believe that our school should have bring your own device.

The bridge

Once long ago in the forest there was a bridge the bridge was very old. So many animals lived in that forest. That forest was like a zoo because, all sorts of animals lived there.

One day a Zebra and a Cow were walking across the bridge at the same time but they were both walking different ways. So they bumbed into each other. They both wanted there own way. So they pushed each other.

Five minutes later a baby chicken came behined  the cow and tapped  it on the back. The Cow looked, then the Cow picked the baby Chicken up and threw it away. Then a mouse tapped the Zebra on the back. The Zebra turned around picked the mouse up and though it away.

The baby chicken started to untie one side of the rope. And on the other side the mouse did the same thing. When both of them finshed the wooden bridge turned and, the Zebra and the Cow fell into the water.

And then the baby chicken and the mouse walked across the bridge. They saw each other they stopped. The baby chicken went on it's tippy toes, and the mouse went under. Then they waved good bye and they went on walking.

THE END!!!

Report on winter field day

Yesterday on Tuesday the 18th August 2015 did winter field day. Winter field day was at different places. Netball was at Windmill court. There were Rugby, Soccer, Hockey and Netball teams. At winter field day there would only be winter sports.

At windmill court the year five A netball team plus Eve played five games. They played Vicki Ave two times new market and two more schools. They won all there games but the first and last game. It was a year six team.I think the meadowbank school A team did very well.

Charlotte was one of the girls who played netball in the A team. She was goal A and goal S. I asked Charlotte about the netball game. She said that the game was good. Most of the games she was goal A and goal S.

Overall I think all the people who played netball did well.

''For the dog and cats''

Once there lived a farmer who had ten cats and one dog. One day the ten cats were sitting on the brick wall. When the cats were whispering, the dog pulled himself up. Then the ten cats stopped, and started staring at the dog. One cat started laughing then all the other cats started laughing. They all were laughing because they had  never seen a dog on a wall or a fence.

Next the cats moved down the wall, the dog followed. The cats keep moving down. And the dog keep following the cats. The dog was following the cats because he wanted to be friends. When the dog gave up the cats started bullying him.

The dog almost fell of the fence, but he was holding on with his front paws. The two cats closest to the dog started biting his two front paws. All the other cats were holding on to the cats. Then five minutes later the dog was on the ground, and the ten cats were up in the air.

So that is the end of that story.

There once lived a boy called Henry. Henry lived with his grandfather. Henry was four years old. One day Henry and his grandfather went up this really tall stand.

They went to the top were there was a platform. It was very windy. The wind went shooooshooo. They set up for making clouds. It was a leson for Henry.

They needed a metal stick with a circle on the top of it. You needed to blow through the circle.  First the grandfather blew through it.  It made a cloud.

Next Henry tried he could not do it. Henry said " it is as hard as flying". Henry tried again and again but he could not do it. When Henry tried to do it on the fourth time henry bent it. It went snap when it broke.

Henry's grandfather looked sad. Henry wanted to make his grandfather happy. So Henry made astar out  of the bent circle. Henry's grandfather was happy. When Henry made the star it went click.

Since Henry's grandfather was happy Henry made some more shaped. After a long day Henry and his grandfather walked home.

The catch

This story is about a boy who is fishing for the whole town.

The boy was fishing for the whole town because it was the towns one hundred birthday. But since the boy was only 8, he could only fish in the small pond. The small pond only has tiny fish and the boy really wanted to catch a big fish... until one day when a fox jumped out of a gigantic bush.
The fox took the fish the boy caught. The boy was sad because it took him 30 minutes to catch it.

The boy was feeling angry, he was really angry. He thought that he could not catch the fox who had the fish he caught.

The fox ( who was reddish brown. It also had some white on it) took the tiny fish. The fox ran though the gigantic bush. The boy followed the fox because he was determined to get the tiny fish back. The boy followed the fox.

So the boy went through the bush. Then they ran through grass for 30 minutes. After that they climbed  up a really tall cliff. With only tiny pieces of rocks stuck to the side. ( It looks like a  rock-climbing wall ).

Then they ran through grass for another 30 minutes. Then they got to this gigantic river. The boy was amazed. But the fox threw the tiny fish into the pond. Then out of the water a huge fish jumped into the air. When the boy saw the huge fish, the boy really wanted to catch it.

The boy caught the fish and caught the tiny fish he got before. The boy gave the fox the tiny fish. The boy walked to the village with the fish. The whole village ate the fish. The boy was proud that he followed the fox.

The fox turned into gold dust and swift up into the sky were he belonged because the fox was a spirit.
